PETA has received frantic calls regarding several birds who have become trapped in a bird deterrent net at the Valero Fuel Refinery Terminal on Mallory Road in Memphis, Tennessee. Birds have apparently managed to find their way into the net but cannot find their way back out. With temperatures nearing 100 degrees, these birds will die painfully from dehydration or stress.

PETA has placed repeated calls to Valero corporate offices, but our calls have not been returned. Please contact Valero and ask the company to open the net immediately, flush out the live birds, and then seal any points of entry to prevent birds from becoming trapped in the future.
