As you know, Iraq combat veteran Logan Black has asked the Air Force to retire Diego, the decertified, specialized military dog with whom he was deployed in Fallujah in 2006 and 2007, so that he can adopt his best friend. Diego is afraid of loud noises and is well into old age, while Black suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. PETA sent a letter to Air Force Secretary Michael Donley and asked our supporters to do the same.
PETA has just received a letter from the Air Force stating that Diego has concluded his service to the military and is now ready for retirement. Black is at the top of the list to adopt Diego. Thank you to everyone who spoke out and to the Air Force for allowing this seasoned four-legged veteran to retire!
