Kind News Now Available in Home Subscriptions
Prairie dogs, sharks, honeybees, and black bears aren’t your typical cover models, but Kind News isn’t your typical magazine. Published by The Humane Society of the United States, this newly redesigned publication offers families a great way to introduce their children to the beauty and wonder of animals who share our world.
Previously available only as a classroom newspaper for grades K-6, Kind News is now available to home subscribers. Through profiles of amazing kids, features about rescued animals, pet care tips and how-tos on helping backyard wildlife, Kind News encourages youth to coexist humanely with animals, celebrate the human-animal bond, and become active in efforts to protect animals.
Each eight-page magazine is filled with the colorful articles, short features, and fun activities that children and teachers love. Its emphasis on treating animals with kindness and respect, providing proper pet care, and appreciating wildlife grabs students’ interest and makes abstract values like compassion, citizenship, and responsibility come alive.
“For families that share a love for animals and want to teach their children the values of kindness and compassion, Kind News is the perfect gift,” said Nancy Lawson, vice president of publications for The HSUS. “The Humane Society of the United States is pleased to offer this new publication for young readers and animal lovers.”
Kind News is available in three reading levels: Primary Edition (grades K-2), Junior Edition (grades 3-4), and Senior Edition (grades 5-6). Those who purchase home subscriptions will receive a copy of the edition of their choice six times a year. Home subscribers can also include a personalized message for the reader that will appear on the back of each issue.
Kind News will also continue to be available by classroom subscription, which is delivered bimonthly during the school year and includes 28 copies of each issue and a teacher’s guide.
