SOCCER STARS TIM HOWARD AND PHIL NEVILLE SCORE BIG FOR ANIMALS IN NEW PETA ADS

Everton Goalkeeper and Former England International Winner Show Their Softer Sides

For Immediate Release:

5 June 2014

Sydney – Everton and Team USA goalkeeper Tim Howard and Manchester United legend and current first team coach Phil Neville have both signed up with PETA UK to form a world-class team fighting animal abuse.

Howard’s brand-new ad campaign shows off his amply tattooed and amply muscled torso alongside the words “Ink, Not Mink. Be Comfortable in Your Own Skin – Let Animals Keep Theirs”. The new ad was shot by top celebrity photographer Trevor Leighton.

“Protecting animals is very important to me, and I think speaking out against fur is an amazing cause”, Howard said when he sat down for an exclusive interview.

Meanwhile, Neville believes his energy may be even higher than it was when he helped lead the Red Devils to the Premier League trophy six times. And as he reveals in a brand-new video interview, it’s because he went vegetarian.

“I think people are understanding the benefits, not just for yourself but for … the environment”, he says. “Two and a half million animals a day are being slaughtered. That is a damning statistic that we need to do something about.”

Neville and Howard join a growing list of top athletes – including rugby player Danny Cipriani, strongman competitor Patrik Baboumian, cricketer Jade Dernbach, squash champion James Willstrop, basketball star Metta World Peace, boxer “Sugar” Shane Mosley and ultra-endurance athlete Rich Roll – who have teamed up with PETA or its affiliates to encourage kindness to animals.
