With the launch of AAE Connect, educators and students will be able to share projects, exchange ideas and collaborate with other teachers and classrooms worldwide through a multi-lingual community. “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts” Aristotle

Today we are thrilled to launch IFAW’s new online community – Animal Action Education (AAE) Connect!

Each year, IFAW’s AAE program reaches more than five million people around the world with educational materials and activities about animals and conservation themes, including our newest program on wildlife and the impact of trade on wild animals worldwide, which are available in multiple languages for free download on IFAW’s website.

With the launch of AAE Connect, educators and students will be able to share projects, exchange ideas and collaborate with other teachers and classrooms worldwide through a multi-lingual community.

AAE Connect provides a platform for teachers and students to discuss topics through message boards and private messaging with real time foreign language translation of English, Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Russian, Mandarin, Arabic.

Smartphone and tablet ready, the site allows users to create interest groups, collaborate on projects and share their own content such as pdfs, photos and video.

Collaboration is the ultimate teamwork, enabling us to harness the power of combined knowledge, experience and imagination to come up with solutions to pressing conservation needs.

Today, with the great technology we have at our fingertips, we can remove barriers like borders, oceans and even languages and open up opportunities for young people to learn, engage and mobilize to make a positive impact.

Our vision for AAE Connect is to empower teachers and students to better understand and celebrate multiple perspectives on animals and conservation by connecting them with other educators and young people around the world. The online community provides a place to:

  • foster a sense of belonging and connection,
  • build  knowledge, creativity, ideas and conversation,
  • inspire collaboration, exploration and collective action on animal welfare and conservation

Sometimes, working in isolation, global challenges can seem too big and distant for one person to tackle. BUT together we do have the power to create solutions that bring about change at home and far away.. .

This is why we are so excited about AAE Connect. Unhindered by distance or language, AAE Connect enables young people and educators to extend learning outside the classroom, their communities and countries. It’s a special place where adults and young people alike can come together and share their love and concern for animals and our shared environment.
