A highly-anticipated documentary further exposes the threat driving endangered animals to extinction that the International Fund for Animal Welfare has been fighting against for decades: illegal wildlife trade.
From the Academy Award-winning filmmakers of The Cove comes a film that will change the way you look at the fight for wildlife survival – not to mention the survival of the planet.
Racing Extinction premieres on the Discovery Channel tomorrow, Dec. 2, at 9pm ET/PT.
I saw this movie for the first time at the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival in September, and was completely blown away by it.
Exposing some of the main causes driving extinction across the globe – including climate change, wildlife trade, pollution, and over-exploitation – the film highlights the many issues that are jeopardizing the existence of species on our planet. These creatures have survived for millions of years, but are disappearing under the watch of humankind.
As an organization that works tirelessly to protect wildlife, we at IFAW are thrilled to see this documentary shed light on such a pressing issue.
Thanks to all those who made this possible and for Vulcan Productions for leading a campaign around the film.
Get watching. Get inspired. Get involved. And #startwith1thing – the movie’s simple advice for motivating viewers to do something positive to stop extinction.
